Upon entering the gorgeous new coffee spot on K Street in Sacramento, I immediately knew that I had gone to the right place. The line for coffee was flowing through to outside of the shop.
Sacramento sure has a hip and growing demographic for specialty coffee! For Temple Coffee, they have surely proven to have an area for success in the industry.
The special aspect of this neighborhood is that most buildings are independently unique from one another.
If you're walking down K Street, you won't be able to immediately spot the Temple Coffee sign. HOWEVER, with the gorgeous, white-painted brick and mortar building Temple sits in, you'll immediately notice the window panels revealing a sneak peek of the beautiful lighting, that you've arrived to the coffee shop.
The overall ambiance of the shop shows a well blended mixture of nature paired with science. Immediately upon feasting your eyes and taking in the environment, you'll see a beautiful design of pennies placed one by one on the floor along with unique wooden decor.
While the wait for coffee may seem long due to the popularity of the new café, this time gives you just enough to really take in and appreciate what Temple Coffee has manifested through its initial vision of "creating a community gathering place much like the temples [Founder, Sean Kohmescher] visited during his travels." Onto its 5th location, Temple Coffee is capturing and continuing to perpetuate its vision.
Aside from the ambiance and vision Temple Coffee has created, I had the opportunity to chat briefly with one of the baristas there. "The thing that makes Temple truly unique is the people and community we work with: everyone is here for different reasons, but we all come together because of the sheer love for coffee we all share. Temple also allows and encourages creativity in the workplace, especially when it comes to artistic expression for some of the accessories that we sell."
Once ordering, I was presented with a nice dish that hosted my cup of coffee along with a Hario server that accompanied the rest.
Let me just start by saying that aside from the shop's setting, Temple pays just as much attention and care into the coffee they roast as the presentation of your cup.
Although this experience wasn't the first time trying Temple Coffee, they manage to wow your palate for coffee EVERY SINGLE TIME.
While I love ordering and prefer to drink black coffee on all occasions, I'm glad to have my girlfriend who loves lattés, cortados, Gibraltars; basically the whole nine yards of espresso dashed with milk. They just make for the most beautiful pictures :).
If you haven't had the chance to visit Temple Coffee on K and 22nd Street yet, I'd highly recommend that you make the trip here.
Great coffee, great baristas, and an absolute work of art as far as ambiance goes; simply put, you can't possibly go wrong.
